Hi! My name is Kenosha Davenport, Executive Director of Family Refuge Center. Oh, the journey we have been on for the past 2.5 years. I am so honored to work with such an awesome team of board and staff, while during the work that I love.
Here are some updates of the projects that we are currently working on:
- Our Abuse in Later Life program that was piloted in 2015 has been extended using VOCA funds. We are now offering these services in Pocahontas & Monroe, as well as Greenbrier.
- In Summer of 2016, we hired a Sexual Assault Program Coordinator and opened the Mercer County Rape Crisis Center, located in Princeton, WV.
- We are undergoing a long-term renovation project at the Anne Blair House Emergency Shelter. The renovation includes duct-less air conditioning systems, new frames, and mattresses. Later this Fall, we will upgrade the furniture in the communal spaces. Stay tuned for more updates or if you want to know how you can help, please give me a call, 304-645-6324.
I look forward to our continued partnership to end violence in our communities.
